News 2022 - January to June
Wedding Blessing - 7th June 2022
It has become a week of lovely things for our church. As Chaplain to the local Royal British Legion, Margie had the joy of doing a Service of Prayer and Blessing following a Civil Marriage. Two very dear friends invited 40 friends and family members for this lovely ceremony. It took place at the New Bar International, where a wonderful buffet was enjoyed by all. We then danced the evening away to the music of Brendan O'Dee, a long standing friend of the groom.
Beautiful service and wonderful celebration. Special thanks to all involved and lovely to see our church at the centre of such important occasions.
Happy 80th Birthday Dawn - 5th June 2022
Another 80th birthday to celebrate at Llanos on the 5th June. As Father Alan said, '42 was a vintage year! We celebrated Dawn's 80th with cava and cake, a lovely family fellowship following the morning Eucharist.
Llanos Foodbank Update - 7th June 2022
Another day to say a big "thank you", Llanos for your continued support of the food bank. Our hard working food bank team, Hazel, Keith and Peter bagged up 20 bags of food, a large bin bag of cereals, another of flour, rice and pasta and 2 bags of toiletries. These were received with thanks at the Town Hall ready for distribution.
Thank you team and thank you everyone for your love and generosity. "By this shall all men know that you are My disciples, if you have love one for another."
Llanos gives back to the community - 6th June 2022
A lovely way to start the week! The next donation from Llanos Church of 100€ was given to Harmony, our local charity which provides a range of services to those in need in our community.
Richard handed over the money to Linda and her team at the Harmony shop in Alfoquia. Thank you everyone for your continuing generosity.
Queen's Jubilee Breakfast - 4th June 2022
"This morning our local RBL joined with members of Llanos Church for a Champagne Breakfast at Los Camioneres to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. It was a wonderful gathering and a lovely tribute to our Queen. Many thanks to the staff of Los Camioneres for providing 32 full English breakfast, drinks and then cava and bucks fizz for the toast. God bless our Queen! "

AGM 2022 - 30th May 2022
The Chaplaincy AGM went well with 33 attending. Father Alan presided over proceeding which included officers reports for the past year and some discussion about the future. Most people stayed for lunch afterwards which added to the fellowship. More information about the AGM 2022 can be found HERE.
Birthday Celebrations - 8th May 2022
This Sunday, at Llanos, we were delighted to share in Ron's 80th birthday celebrations. Ron has served our Chaplaincy in many capacities over the years and it was lovely, as a church family, to raise our glasses of cava in love to this wonderful man. It is a joy of our church that we can fully share in each other's happiness and worries, a true family."
Breakfast Club - 4th May 2022
On Saturday the Breakfast Club met at Los Camioneres. A wonderful full English and a shared natter with our friends from the RBL. Make sure your name is down for the next one -a champagne breakfast to celebrate our Queen's 70 years of devoted service.
"He is Risen" - Holy Week 2022
Easter was celebrated with such joy across the Chaplaincy. Aljambra had a Eucharist the morning of Maundy Thursday and Father Alan washed the feet of those who came to break bread and share the cup for an evening service at Llanos to remember the Last Supper.
Good Friday saw both Mojacar and Llanos celebrate a solemn vigil to ponder our Lord's cruel death to redeem us all from our wrongdoing.
But Easter Morning the Chaplaincy celebrated His Rising with hymns of praise and sharing Communion. Father Alan arranged different times for our services so we could all share the Eucharist. There were a couple of Easter Bonnets too!
Community Support "A Big Thank You" - 30th April 2022
This morning Margie was happy to hand over the 100€ raised through refreshment donations at Llanos for the care of those with Alzheimer's and Dementia. Fanny Davies received the donation with thanks and said money raised was also used to support carers. So thank you everyone!
Also just a mention of the 50€ raised by Jasmine at a table top sale, funds will be used for the work of the Chaplaincy.

A wonderful season in the Church calendar, with Christians all over the world worshipping God and thanking Him for Jesus. Our little corner of rural Spain joined that mighty crowd!! If you couldn't join us this year, be sure to mark the weekend next year. Every blessing from our Chaplaincy.
Return to Aljambra Chapel 10th March 2022
A wonderful morning for Aljambra yesterday with a special Eucharist of Thanksgiving for our return to our usual home of Worship. 30 people attended including 9 of our Spanish friends, some of whom were councillors from Albox Town Hall. The chapel has been completely renovated with a beautiful bell tower. The bell, brought over from specialist bell makers in Portugal, delightfully marked the beginning and end of the service. The Chaplaincy’s whole Worship Team were present to bless the chapel.

Llanos Breakfast Club 4th March 2022
Our first Breakfast Club was a huge success at Los Camioneros. 22 people came along to enjoy fellowship and a super cooked breakfast. We had friends from Aljambra chapel and also the Royal British Legion. A huge thanks to all who made it such a lovely morning. Next one is 2nd April at 11am.
